- We plan to realize the center TRANSark in 2014, and will apply for funding from the NTNU, says project manager Bjørn Otto Braaten.

24 educational environments in Norway applied to establish a Centre of Excellence in Education (SFU). The Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education, NOKUT, selected eight finalists. Among them where two applicants from NTNU: "Transformative Learning in Architectural Education" (TransARK) hosted by the faculty and "Innovative teaching in Information Technology" (2IT) hosted by Department of Computer and Information Science.

Status as a Centre of Excellence in Education is assigned environments that already can demonstrate outstanding quality and innovative practices in education. An important requirement for the centers is the dissemination of results and knowledge dissemination.

The winners was announced today, on November 8, 2013.
