Organization and responsibility
The IT Division is in charge of the basis IT systems at NTNU. Head of the division is Håkon Alstad.
NTNU IT is primarily a provider of IT operating services to NTNU. Our business is based on expertise in development, operation and error handling within networks, server and application operations.
The department is divided into six sections with responsibilities spanning both physical IT infrastructure, application support, technical support and customer relations. All sections are involved in user support on some level.
The Customer Center accounts for the contact with clients/customers who want IT services delivered by NTNU IT. The Customer Center has extensive expertise in NTNU's activities, project management, service agreements and customer contact. Head of the Customer Center is Hanne Merete Glad.
The Service Desk handles requests from end users, both staff and students. The section is also responsible for computer operations, software agreements and distribution. Head of the section is Jan Ole Waagen.
Application ensures that all systems are available in accordance with our agreements. The section provides development and integration services for a multitude of IT solutions, and assists in system development and management of these applications once they are deployed. Head of the section is Stein Stendahl.
Network is responsible for infrastructure and operation of the computer network at NTNU, both fixed line and wireless networks. In addition, the section is responsible for NTNU's telephony services, such as. NTNU's phone directory. Head of the section is Terje Buseth.
