Scientific computing at NTNU
NTNU participates in the project NOTUR - the Norwegian meta center for computational science. NTNU IT is responsible for the operation of the NOTUR facilities at NTNU.
See the project's own website for details: Project NOTUR.
In addition to operation of the facilities the IT Division provides user support for parallel computations and the use of the various NOTUR facilities. Inquiries may be directed by e-mail to NOTUR support.
It is the Faculty of Information Technology, Mathematics and Electrical Engineering (IME) which is responsible for the strategy and development of computational science at NTNU.
NTNU has got time assigned for local use of the NOTUR facilities. This makes it possible for students at NTNU to get time assigned at the plant without applying through the Norwegian Research Council. Instead, students may be assigned time at the plant by the teaching staff or supervisors.
By accessing the web page of IME, allocation of computing time, students can apply for a user and time at the NOTUR plant.
