Department of Human Movement Science
Movement Science is a young and dynamic scientific field that takes a cross-disciplinary perspective on the study of moving people. Focus is directed to a broad spectre of questions related to physical activity both at work and in our leisure time. How do we acquire new movement skills? What significance does physical activity have for infants, youth, adults, and elderly? How can equipment and technique of top-level athletes be improved? What is the relation between physical activity, health, and rehabilitation after disease or injury?
Department of Human Movement Science has educational facilities at the levels of bachelor, master, and PhD. In addition, the department has an active research environment in which both students and external collaborators contribute to the study of human movement across traditional disciplines.
