Programme Councils

The Faculty of Medicine has established programme councils for all its bachelor's, master's and PhD programmes. The members of the programme councils include professors, administrators, students and external representatives, and they usually meet once or twice per semester. The coouncils are chaired by a head of programme.


Bachelor's and Master's Programmes

The primary responsibility of the programme council is to promote academic and pedagogical development of the programme of study, and to work towards developing it as a comprehensive and coherent programme of high academic quality that provides skills sought by society and the labour market. The programme council has a particular responsibility to ensure that the programme undergoes continuous evaluation and quality development

PhD Programmes

The main duties of the PhD programme councils are to develop the PhD degrees into solid and comprehensive education and research programmes, to examine the admission applications, and to follow up the progression of the candidates.

In addition to the programme councils, the dean has also appointed a supervisory PhD committee which coordinates the complete portfolio of PhD programmes.
