I am a 27 year old girl originating from Stavanger. Currently I am living in Ilsvika with my boyfriend Anders. After graduating from NTNU I worked one year at Laerdal Medical as a Product Developer. Working there was both interesting and fun, but after a short while I wanted some more challenges; a PhD study. It is fantastic to have the possibility to study exactly what you want for 3 years. In addition, I also find it exciting that my work may bring the world a little step further….
Education:
2002-2007: A master degree at NTNU, Product design and manufacturing (Mechanical engineering), Industrial Mechanics.
Former place of employment/position:
2007-2008 : Product Developer at Laerdal Medical AS
PhD student at Department of Structural Engineering (KT):
2008-2012 : 3 years PhD-study + 1year duty work
Verv ved Instirutt for Konstruksjonsteknikk (KT):
PhD-students representative.
Subject for the PhD-Study:
Damage and fracture in polymer materials
The subject matter of this PhD study is to include a failure criterion in a material model for thermoplastics, recently proposed by SIMLab. The failure criterion should be able to catch the damage occuring during deformation in order to predict fracture
The objectives of this study are to establish:
-
When and how damage occurs in thermoplastic materials
-
When and in what way the damage leads to fracture
-
How the onset of fracture can be predicted numerically using FEA
