Background and activities

Currently I am working within the CLIMart project (www.climart.info) which tries to create a more emotional and personal connection for people to the topic of climate change by incorporating "environmental art". We think that art has the potential to activate social ressources and create a more positive narrative, as well as present solutions to the challenges ahead, than for example information alone.

In Climart I am working as researcher, as well as project manager for the artwork "Pollution Pods" by Michael Pinsky (www.michaelpinsky.com).

As Psychologist I am mostly interested in the mechanisms that are underlying the perception of environmental art and emotional reactions that are related when encountering art. Finally, we try connect those reactions with psychological variables of environmental friendly behavior and popular models from environmental psychology.

Topics of interest:

- Attitude / Intention-Behavior Gap

- Facilitators, motivators and barriers of pro-environmental behavior

- environmental art / happenings / activism

- ecological identity

- Nugding
