Main areas of research: Clinical paediatric rheumatology. Epidemiological, clinical and experimental studies of chronic unspecific pain in adolescence.

Professor in Paediatrics

Main areas of research:
Clinical research in paediatric rheumatology; population-based studies on incidence, prevalence, course and
longterm outcome in juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), measures of disease activity, and JIA-associated uveitis and temporomandibular joints. Clinical characteristics of other paediatric rheumatic conditions, such as juvenile systemic lupus erythematosus (JSLE).

Epidemiologic studies on chronic unspecific pain in adolescence; prevalence, associated factors, such as socioeconomy, life style factors, perinatal factors, anciety and depression, and also associations with parental chronic pain and perinatal factors. Clinical and experimantal neurophysiological studies on pain perception and pain responses in adolescents/young adults with increased risk of chronic pain.

Areas of teaching:
General paediatrics, with special focus on paediatric rheumatology, growth and development, immunizations.
