Background and activities

Ragnhild Aaen studied Industrial Chemistry and Biotechnology at NTNU, with Biotechnology as her main field. She also spent a year abroad at UCSB, USA (2013/2014). For her last year at NTNU she worked with the biopolymer group at the Department of Biotechnology, and completed her master thesis on sulfation of alginate for use in tissue engineering applications in 2015. She joined Ugelstad laboratory/PFI in August 2015 as a PhD student under the supervision of Kristin Syverud, Sébastien Simon and Galina Nikolaevna Rodionova. Her field of research is on the rheological properties of cellulose nanofibrils.
