Background and activities

Rajesh Kumar has extensive experience in optics and photonics and its bio-medical applications. At present he is visiting NASA and MIT in USA. He obtained PhD degree in Physics, MSc (and BSc) degree in Photonics. He worked for a couple of years as Marie-Curie Researcher in the EU/FP7 funded project ‘integrated interventional imaging operating system’ in United Kingdom. Previously, he also worked as visiting research fellow in Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU-South Korea), Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR-Mumbai), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-Madras) and Indian Institute of Science (IISc-Bangalore). He is the recipient of SPIE International award, USA and a couple of awards at National level during his academic career in India. Recently, he has received HMN-Research Grant (3013000.00 NOK), Medical Imaging research and travel grant (MedIm: 50000.00 NOK) and Internationalization of Medical Technology grant (56000.00 NOK) in Norway. Earlier, he has also received 3 year Fellowship for PhD in Norway, Marie-Curie Fellowship in UK and KVPY Fellowship in India. He has achieved the professional status of Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), United Kingdom. He serves as a peer reviewer for scientific journals.
