Heat- and refrigeration technology, components and systems
Efficient energy use, maximum utilization of raw materials and reduced equipment costs are important factors when considering the financial and environmental aspects of industrial processes. Process integration is a system oriented methodology for analysis and design of process plants, especially focusing on energy use (thermal and mechanical) by so-called Pinch analyses. The Industrial Process Technology group is working with development of these methods in close contact with Norwegian industry (especially chemical, petrochemical and oil & gas). This is done by application of methods in specific projects. International cooperation is maintained through contact with the leading universities within this research area.
