Dewatering and Food Engineering Laboratory

The Dewatering Laboratory has a large diversity of measuring devices and its facilities have a complete line of heat pump and conventional dryers, including:

  • 4 heat pump fluidized bed dryers,
  • 5 spray dryers
  • 2 vacuum freeze dryers
  • A very energy efficient 2-stage fluidized bed dryer with heat pump
  • Atmospheric freeze dryers
  • Dryers that operate in the range of –30 to +40 °
  • Tunnel-shelf dryer for fish

The Food Engineering Laboratory consist of several tem­per­ature regulated rooms, a air blast tunnel and a number of different instrument such as Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC), a thermal calorimeter and Instron texture tester. Also a larger number of industrial food related equipment are placed in the laboratory (vacuum packaging machine, cutting devices, boilers, etc)
