Equipment
We are running experiments on a 7T Bruker Biospec MR scanner dedicated for MRI of small animals.
Specification:
- Magnet: Bruker Biospec Avance 70/20
- Magnetic field strength: 7T
- Gradients: BGA-12 400 mT/m
- Maximum bore size (with volume resonator): 7.2 cm
- Maximum bore size (without volume resonator): 12 cm
Coils:
- Volume resonators for proton, carbon, sodium and fluoride.
- Surface coils for proton, carbon and fluoride
- Dedicated surface coils for rat head, mouse head and rat heart
Additional equipment:
- Animal monitoring system (body temperatur, respiration, cardiac cycle)
- Animal triggering system for respiration and cardiac cycle
Other equipment in our laboratory:
In addition to the 7T animal scanner, two high-field MR spectroscopies, a Bruker Avance DMX 600 MHz (14.1T) and a Bruker Avance DRX 500 MHz (11.7T) are located in our laboratory at the MR-center.
FUGE Molecular Imaging Center is located at the MR center at St. Olavs Hospital in Trondheim, Norway. It is a part of Department of Circulation and Medical Imaging at the Faculty of Medicine at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).
