Building and Construction Engineering
What is Building and Construction Engineering?
The research group for Building and Construction Engineering is responsible for research and education within sustainable building processes and the design of functional and energy efficient buildings and constructions. We cover the following four main areas: Building and material Technology, Facility and property management, Construction technology and production management and Project management.
Building and material technology includes the expertise fields building physics, energy use, climate adaption, building technology, building materials, environmental assessment, fire safety and acoustics. Facility and property management covers the strategic development, organization and handling of tasks connected to the building portfolio and management of facilities.
Construction technology and production management includes planning and implementation of the building phase in projects, with special focus on tunnelling, rock blasting, production technology and building production. Project management covers all phases of the building process, with special emphasis on conceptual choices and evaluation, project delivery models, productivity, uncertainty, cost, time and HSE.
