Research

Research in the Department of history and Classical Studies covers a wide range of topics within ancient and classical studies, medieval studies, contemporary world history, Modern European and American history, African history and local history and social- and gender history. Furthermore, research is also performed within the popular current field of American history and the situation in the Middle East.

The centre of Medieval Studies is located at the Department, and its employees covers the different areas of medieval research.

Moreover, our research- and teaching staff naturally boast excellent qualifications covering Norwegian history from the Middle Age until the Twenty-first century.
