Research

The most important activities at IME are research and research-based teaching. The research is linked to relevant areas for Norwegian industry and society, and is on an international level, that is forming the basis for high subject quality in teaching.

The Research Committee, chaired by Vice-Dean for research, is a strategic body for the development of faculty research.

PhD opportunities

The faculty have about 400 PhD candidates within its doctoral programmes. IME offers six PhD programmes:

The studies are planned in co-operation with a subject supervisor. You are advised to get in touch with the supervisor whom you feel will be most relevant for your chosen area of study, or with the contact persons listed above at the departments and the faculty.

The supplementary regulations build on the Standard Precept for doctoral studies.
