Research
Within the Scandinavian Studies' Section the main areas of linguistic competence is Old Norse philology, grammar (syntax and intonology), linguistic theory of science, and sociolinguistics. Within literature, the primary focus is currently on contemporary literature, literary criticism and didactics.
Within Comparative Literature, the academic staff is actively involved in research projects comprising sexualty within literature of the Antiquity, European baroque, The 18th Century, and Modernism. The theorethical focus includes a variety of perspectives including narratology, modern gender theory and psychoanalytic theory. The staff is also activly involved in maintaining and developing several interactive, multi-medial courses in Comparative Literature, both presented to our own students and students from outside the university.
