Exams expected to proceed according to schedule in spite of strike
(24.05.2012) Exams at NTNU are expected to go according to schedule in spite of an employee strike that began on Thursday morning. The university's Studies Division advises all students to plan on taking their exams as scheduled and should show up at their examination locations on the dates and times that have been previously published.
New procedure for residency permits announced
(09.05.2012) The Norwegian Directorate of Immigration has changed the procedure by which non-Norwegians who are not residents of an EU / EEA / EFTA country are given proof of a valid residency permit. Beginning on 20 May, you will no longer be given a sticker in your passport that indicates you have a work and residency permit for Norway.
NTNU creates new Housing Service to help with housing crunch
(04.05.2012)The Human Resources Department is establishing a common Housing Service at NTNU beginning in June. The service will be part of NTNU's International Research Support (NIRS) services. In practice this means that all activities related to NTNU's existing residence office, which oversees the rental of the university's own housing, will be transferred to the Human Resources Department.
NTNU election results announced
(29.03.2012) Elections for temporary academic staff representatives to the NTNU Board concluded on Wednesday, and the results are in: Magnus Steigedal, a researcher in the Faculty of Medicine, was elected as a board member with 145 votes, and Kirsti Jensen, a PhD candidate in the Department of Industrial Economics and Technology Management was elected as a deputy member. NTNU employee overcome by bad weather
(22.03.2012) It has been confirmed that Florian Mumm, a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Physics, has been found dead in the area around Gjevilvassdalen in Oppdal Municipality.
The Taxman is coming -- to NTNU
(16.03.2012) If you work at NTNU, you almost certainly must pay taxes in Norway. International Researcher Support has arranged for a two-part tax seminar on 17-18 April with representatives from the Norwegian Tax Administration. Research volunteers needed to test perception of new 3D pictures
(14.03.2012) The Department of Architectural Design, Form and Colour Studies is studying new technological methods to evaluate architecture. A PhD student needs research volunteers to test 3D High Definition pictures and perception of light and colour in real and virtual rooms.

NOK 50 000 for best green energy idea
(31.01.2012) The think tank Grønn Fase (Green Phase), the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy and Tekna are offering a prize of NOK 50 000 for the best idea that promotes environmentally friendly energy. Students from all Norwegian colleges and universities are encouraged to enter the competition.
New tax card rules for new non-Norwegian employees
(30.01.2012) As of 1 February 2012, new non-Norwegian arrivals in Norway who need a tax card or need to register their move to Norway with the authorities must do so in person. Non-Norwegian employees who already are registered with the authorities or who already receive their tax cards in the mail from the Norwegian Tax Administration are not affected by the change.

Green Drinks Trondheim invites new members

Scheduled downtime for parts of NTNU's IT system
(03.01.2012) Beginning on Friday 6 January at 16.00 to Sunday 8 January (midnight) segments of NTNU's IT system will be taken down in conjunction with work that needs to be done on the system. The downtime will mainly affect student directories and some student sites.
