Governance, structure and the organization

The center is governed by:

The center is comprised of:

  • 25–30 research scientists from NTNU / SINTEF / IFE
  • 15 professors at NTNU
  • 20 PhD students (over a 5 yr. period)
  • Scientists from the cooperating universities
  • Experts from our industrial partners (below)

The Center hub is located at NTNU/SINTEF in Trondheim, Norway, with labs in Halden (IFE), Bergen and Stavanger (SINTEF). Pilot projects are carried out at the premises of the industrial partners. Visiting research fellows and PhD’s are exchanged with the international collaborating universities.

Budget

The Center's overall 5 year budget is NOK 40 million, including the SFI funding of NOK 10 million annually.

Illustrasjonsbilde/FOTO The Gas Technology Center unifies the combined efforts of NTNU and SINTEF. The Center was established in 2003 and is the largest center for gas technology research and education in Norway. Approximately 300 people (researchers, professors, Post Docs and PhD students) are involved in natural gas-related R&D. The Center focuses on exploring the synergism of multidisciplinary research into the value chain, from the source to the end-user. [ GTC website ]
