Clinical microbiology and infectious disease
The research group for clinical microbiology and infectious disease is engaged in two main research themes:
- Microbial proteomics and genomics and
- Inflammation
Research activities related to Microbial proteomics and genomics cover several fields, including Group B streptococci, Diarrhea-associated Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus species, Legionella pneumophilia, and biofilms.
Research activities related to inflammation cover prosthetic joint infection, respiratory tract infections in young children, innate antiviral responses, and autoimmunity related to psoriasis.
The group is interdisciplinary with experts in bacteriology, virology, molecular biology and genomics, pediatrics and orthopedic surgery, and works in close collaboration with Trondheim University Hospital and SINTEF.
