LingPhil Summer School 2015

June 15-19, 2015 at Fevik Beach Hotel, Norway

We are proud to announce the 2015 LingPhil Summer School. The Summer School will take place in Norway form June 15-19 at Fevik Beach Hotel on the southern coast of Norway. The hotel is not far from Kristiansand airport (Kjevik), which has connections to airports such as Copenhagen and Oslo.

The goal of the Summer School is to provide both in depth and overview courses for Norwegian PhD candidates in linguistics and Philology. At the 2015 Summer School, we envisage in total five courses (some running in parallel) in addition to posters/presentations/group work. In addition, there will  be a workshop session on career options and choices.

The following instructors have accepted to teach courses:

Dr. Melanie Bell (Anglia Ruskin University) - Statistics
Prof. Manuel Carreiras (Basque Centre on Cognition, Brain and Language) - Bilingual Processing
Dr. Sonja Eisenbeiss (University of Essex) - Acquisition of Syntax
Prof. Frans Gregersen (Copenhagen University) and Prof. Terje Lohndal (NTNU) - Philosophy of Science meets Linguistics

Note that each participant should attend 2 courses, in addition to the Philosophy of Science meets Linguistics course.

 

Travel grants

  • PhD candidates affiliated to LingPhil program can apply for travel grant to participate in summer school.

 

International participants

  • LingPhil will give a maximum of 3 grants to international participants. The grant will be a maximum of NOK 5000 to cover accommodation and food.
  • International candidates those who pay for accommodation and food themselves may be accepted, on the condition that the payment is done ahead of the event.
