Books -- libraries and bookstores
"Books are the carriers of civilization. Without books, history is silent, literature dumb, science crippled, thought and speculation at a standstill." -- Barbara Tuchman
NTNU's 11 libraries are home to 2.8 million printed volumes, 37 500 electronic books and 10 000 electronic journals, and offer access to 1200 international reference databases. The various libraries on NTNU campuses also have a number of paper copies of important peer-reviewed journals and other publications; as just one example, Gunnerus Library is home to a substantial photo and manuscript archive.
If NTNU doesn't have what you are looking for on its bookshelves or online, NTNU librarians can help you find what you need. Another important resource to consider is VIKO, a series of self-tutorial webpages that will help you shape your research question and find the resources you require.
If it's books to buy that you're looking for, look no further than Tapir's bookstores. The two main bookstores are on the Dragvoll and Gløshaugen campuses, but there is a smaller shop at Kalvskinnet, as well as an Internet bookshop online (of course).
