Orientation Week 10-16 August 2015

Orientation Week for international students is the perfect opportunity for you to get to know NTNU and Trondheim, and to make friends. Welcome meetings, canoeing in the river, hiking, city tours, BBQs and swimming in the fjord - Orientation Week is truly an event not to be missed! Please note that you will have to sign up and pay a small fee to participate in the social part of the Orientation programme.

To and from NTNU

You can easily travel to and from NTNU by bus. Here are some useful NTNU stops for Orientation Week, use AtB's travel planner to get specific route information:

  • Studentersamfundet: Student Society
  • Høgskoleringen or Gløshaugen Nord: Main Administration Building, Matriculation Ceremony, International House
  • Gløshaugen Syd or Lerkendal gård: Natural Science Building (Realfagsbygget)

Fares and tickets

Buying a ticket on the bus is expensive (NOK 50/trip). Cheaper one-way tickets can be bought from a ticket machine or by using Mobilett.

Matriculation 11 August 2015

The Matriculation Ceremony is an enrolment ceremony for all new students at NTNU. The Ceremony consists of speeches and entertainment. While the majority of the speeches are in Norwegian, English subtitles will be provided on large screens.

After the Ceremony, the faculties will arrange welcome meetings for all new master's degree students. Most exchange students do not have any meetings, and are instead invited to a BBQ at International House.
