The 5th National PhD Conference in Medical Imaging
2 JULY 2013: THE REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED. PhD CANDIDATES STARTING UP AFTER THIS DATE AND OTHERS WHO HAVE PARTICULAR REASONS NOT TO HAVE REGISTERED WITHIN THE DEADLINE MAY CONTACT THE ORGANIZERS.
We are delighted to invite all PhD Candidates in the field of medical imaging from all Norwegian institutions to join us in Tromsø in October, to take part in the 5th National PhD Conference in Medical Imaging.
In addition to the PhD Candidates, also Research Program Medical Students and a limited number of Post-doctoral fellows are invited to submit their abstracts.
No conference fee!
Travel grants to all participants with abstract who are registered as members of MedIm! Abstract and registration deadline: 1 July 2013
Prizes of NOK 10,000 will be awarded for 'Best poster' and 'Best oral presentation'.
Similar to the four previous PhD Conferences, we hope that principal investigators, supervisors and research oriented clinicians in the field will join the PhD candidates, to make this into an important annual meeting place for the whole field of medical imaging in Norway.
The event is jointly organized by MedIm – Norwegian Research School in Medical Imaging and The Research Unit for Medical Imaging at the University of Tromsø/University Hospital of Northern Norway.
The number of participants is limited to 120. Participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, giving priority to MedIm members who have both registered and submitted their abstract. So, do not hesitate – register today!
In addition to four scientific sessions with high profiled invited speakers, the program hosts an innovative form of poster presentation: Speed poster presentations. These sessions brings the poster presenters more in touch with the plenary audience.

There is no conference fee, and all PhD Candidates, Research Program students and post doc's who participate with an abstract will have their travel cost and their hotel accommodation covered by MedIm. As a technical requirement, you have to submit your credit card information when you reserve a hotel room. However, if you belong to the group of active participants, this information will only be used in case you do not show up at the hotel without cancellation.
The conference dinner and social event will take place at Polaria, following a brief tour of their fascinating exhibition of nature and wildlife in the Arctic. The dinner is also free of charge for all participants.
