Our offer to PhD candidates

The Norwegian Research School in Medical Imaging is a network and a service provider for PhD candidates, for university lecturers, and for supervisors. PhD candidates registered with the Research School keep their affiliation to their home institution and the PhD programme in which they are enrolled.There are no particular obligations for PhD candidates registered with the Research School.

The Norwegian Research School is a collaboration in which NTNU and the universities in Oslo, Bergen and Tromsø are equal partners. PhD candidates from other Norwegian institutions may apply for support on an equal basis.

We provide various forms of support to PhD Candidates, for example:

  • Support towards travel and accommodation, enabling you to attend PhD courses outside your hometown. Attendance of any course on our list of courses will normally qualify for support. Application form .
  • Promoting recruitment to the field, we offer bridging funds .
  • PhD candidates working outside Norway may request support for attendance at PhD courses in Norway.
  • We regularly arrange national meetings, contributing towards the travel and accommodation expenses for participants.
  • We provide updated information on relevant courses and other events of interest to PhD candidates in medical imaging.
  • In general, we wish to stimulate high-quality, multidisciplinary research training in medical imaging. Any proposals you may have to promote these goals are most welcome!
