Department of Education

 

Education is an important discipline in today's society. Teaching, learning, communicating and developing competence are central skills within all occupations and in all arenas of society. The discipline of Education gives the student basic competencies that will be useful as well as a source of joy in all social contexts.

The Department of Education offers study programmes on all levels. There is a one year course which briefly covers the main areas of the discipline.  The Bachelor degree gives a full specialization (105 ECTS) which includes an overview of the basic themes of the discipline. On the Master's level we offer specialization in Special Education, Education and Upbringing, and Early Childhood Education. We also offer studies in Media Education. The PhD programme and the Research School lead to a high level of research competence and an academic career.

The Department of Education has an active research milieu which covers most areas of the discipline of Education. The milieu is organised into research groups which together cover central and prioritized research areas.
