Physiology
- Specialisation
Physiology is the study of the structure and function of organisms, from communication between plant cells to the blue whale’s adaptation to a life in the ocean.
Physiology deals with common principles and processes in the animal and vegetable kingdom, and exclusive, intelligent solutions to very specific problems. If you are interested in how the brain works or how plants are able to adapt to a life in the desert, you should consider the subject combination Physiology.
The Department of Biology includes several research groups working with interesting problems in zoological physiology or phytophysiology. This means that our students meet an active environment that will teach you wholeheartedly about some of the most incredible phenomena of nature through lectures, field excursions, and laboratory experiments.
