Language and Literature
The Language and Literature programme provides knowledge about language in the widest sense. You may study Norwegian and Scandinavian languages or foreign languages, the structure of language and how it is used, in everyday language and in literary texts.
An important common goal for all subjects associated with the programme of study is training in the ability to deal analytically with texts. The programme also results in linguistic proficiency at an advanced level.
Comparative Literature, Phonetics and Linguistics share an interdisciplinary dimension, which means that knowledge in these subjects will deepen and differentiate other scientific subjects. Specialization within English, French, Latin, Scandinavian Language and Literature, Swahili and German includes courses that cover language, culture, literature, history and civilization.
You may choose between the following fields of study:
- Applied Linguistics
