Elements of form, and how they are connected in systems
Theories of architecture in history

Learning outcome

The course unit is intended to give an overview of the history of built environments by discussing historical building types, and the design of specific architectural works and ensembles, as related to the technical knowledge, theory and society of their time. Architecture and themes of architectural theory from classical antiquity to the 20th C, mainly with regard to the Western world will be examined.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures/colloqiae, and private study. Lessons will be given in English if some international students follows the course.

Required previous knowledge

Higher Education Entrance Qualification. Max. 80 students. Registration deadline: December 1st.
