Learning outcome

Provide basic design knowledge and skills focusing on housing in a spesific context. Attention will be paid to: architectural design as support in everyday activities and social life, design of architectural space and sequences of spaces. Housing typologies and forms of dwelling in history and in contemporary architecture discussed in their cultural and social context. Properties of construction and quality of building materials. Focus on low energy buildings.

Learning methods and activities

The design of dwellings in relationship to place, human activities, systems of construction and environmental thinking.
Design studio.
Workshops, seminars, lectures.

Admission to a programme of study is required:
