About the course

Course content

The course is a an integrated part of one unit consisting of a design studio and a more analytical input, and should be taken in combination with AAR4814 Housing Design Knowledge. Recommended elective course is AAR4812 Housing Theory and History.

Learning outcome

The objective is to give an overview of relevant professional and academic topics related to the development of dwellings, and should lead to increased general architectural design competence as well as housing design skills.

Learning methods and activities

The course is conducted as one or several design excercises related to new housing, or to renewal and refurbishment of dwellings and housing areas, with focus on environmental considerations.
Teaching will be conducted as seminars and presentations related to the assingments, regular tutorials and a possible common excursion.

Required previous knowledge

Completed three years basic courses in architecture, bachelor in architecture or equivalent. The course is a main element in combination with course AAR4814 which must be taken in the same semester. Registration deadline: 15. may.
