About the course

Course content

The course will have specific focus on the effects of light in an architectonic context.

Learning outcome

The course is to increase general architectural design competence. The forming and designing of rooms is approached by studying the interaction between room, form, light, materials and the human measurements. Close attention to detail is sought.

Learning methods and activities

The course will have varied forms of teaching, including lectures and seminars as well as model studies in the light laboratory and ful-scale experiments in room laboratory. Students are also supposed to design an individual architectural project.

Required previous knowledge

Completed three years basic courses in architecture, bachelor in architecture or equivalent. Students are supposed to take course AAR4850 Light and lighting. Registration deadline: 15. may.
