About the course
Course content
Training in analytical observation of architectural phenomena, practical or theoretical, and in the expression of architectural reflections in writing. Exercise in describing architectural qualities.
Learning outcome
Training of the ability to original analytical reflection on elements of the nature of architecture.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures. Own observations and studies. Writing a paper in English on a given aspect of architecture. Short term evaluations and individual tutoring.
Compulsory assignments
- Fieldwork in Tibet
Required previous knowledge
Completed three years basic courses in architecture, bachelor in architecture or equivalent. The course is associated with the courses AAR4520 Town Houses in a Unique Foreign Cultural Context - Tibet and AAR4855 Surveying traditional Tibetan architecture.
