Course content
Central themes are wooden architecture, site analysis,form, space, the properties of wooden materials, chemical and mechanical protection of wooden materials, static priciples of wooden constructions and their influence on the architectural expression.
Learning outcome
The course gives the student knowledge of the properties of the wooden material and their influence on the structural system, detailing and architectural expression.
Learning methods and activities
The course gives the student knowledge through lectures, seminars and workshops. These are coordinated with the progression of the planning assignments of AAR4565 Wooden Constructions A. An excursion is an important part of the course.
Required previous knowledge
Completed three years basic courses in architecture, bachelor in architecture or equivalent. The course is 100% integrated with AAR4565 Wooden Constructions A and must be taken in combination with this. The evaluation of both courses is based on the planning assignment of AAR4565. Registration deadline: 1. juni.
