Course content
Topics presented are: The concept of resource use. Energy- and resource use in Norway. Energy use in buildings. Environmental impact of energy- and resource use in design, construction, and operation of buildings. Different methods for reducing energy use and/or environmental impact.
Learning outcome
The main goal is to give the students a general understanding of how energy and other resources are used in the building sector and to provide them with knowledge, methods, and tools necessary to design energy- and environmentally friendly buildings.
Learning methods and activities
The topics are presented in lectures, seminars, and through literature studies. In addition there are compulsory exercises aimed at analysiing the performance of various concepts.
Required previous knowledge
Completed three years basic courses in architecture, bachelor in architecture or equivalent. The subject is compulsory for students taking AAR4610.Registration deadline: 1. december.
