Course content

The content of the course is the nature of architectural theory. This is discussed through concrete examples from the world of architecture and art and relevant theories from the discipline of architecture as well as other forms of theoretcal - foremost scientific - and practical knowledge

Learning outcome

Knowledge: Basic knowledge about architectural theories. This comprises knowledge about the characteristica of architectural theory, the different kinds of theory, especially aesthetic theory, and the relation between theory and practice in the discipline of architecture. Skills: To reflect critically on the theory of architecture and express this in written text. General theoretical competence in architecture.

It will be announced in the start of the semester about the nature and scope of the written thesis.

Postponed examinations are usually scheduled for the next regular exam period.
