About the course

Course content

The course will provide basic knowledge on light, visual perception of light and colour, daylight as a light source, diffusion of light in space, issues in modelling light, design of fittings and the integration of fittings in the interior of a room or space.

Learning outcome

The course will provide knowledge about: the light quality and the effects of natural and artificial light in an architectonic context.

Learning methods and activities

The course is based on lectures, demonstrations, full-scale tests in the laboratory for special study, computer exercises using light-simulation software.

Required previous knowledge

Completed three years basic courses in architecture, bachelor in architecture or equivalent. Basic studies for students from other faculties or equivalent. Registration deadline: 1. december.
