About the course

Course content

Different types of museums;design and functions, concerning exhibitions, administration, storage and research facilities. The history of the museum as concept and institution.

Learning outcome

Knowledge of the history and development of the concept of the museum as institution, in particular the museums of cultural history such as site museums and open air museums, and their interplay with the formation of local identity, as well as the special functional demands connected to collection and curating of objects, exhibition and research.
