About the course

Course content

Students select a topic of their own choice for their Master’s thesis. The thesis should be an independent scientific inquiry based on fieldwork in Africa, but dissertations based on other research methods will also be accepted. The thesis should be from 60 to 80 pages.

Learning outcome

To develop skills in executing a large scientific work in the study of African conditions concerning culture, society and resource management.

Individual supervision
The course is reserved for students admitted to a particular programme ("studierettskrav").

Specific conditions

Admission to a programme of study is required:
Afrikastudier (MAFR)

Required previous knowledge

AFR 3000, AFR 3003, AFR 3004 or GEOG3003 and AFR3005 or GEOG3004, experts in Team and 30 sp optional courses.
