About the course

Course content

The curriculum consists of texts from modern literary theory, aesthetic theory, poetics, genre theory, theory of interpretation, as well as from relevant debates in literary studies. It may also include a history of comparative literature as academic discipline and theory of literary history. As a whole the curriculum must have a broad academic scope. The curriculum shall consist of approximately 600 pages.

Learning outcome

The course will provide students with an understanding of theories of science, literary theory, and a history of comparative literature as academic discipline, giving them a foundation for scholarly work with literature on the master level.

Learning methods and activities

Seminars. Students are expected to participate by making oral presentations, comments, etc.
