About the course
Course content
The tuition gives a general introduction to archaeology as an academic discipline. The discipline's history and development is emphasized as is the situation today. Further are emphasized source materials, theory and methodology as well as interpretations of the past based on material cultural remains.
Learning outcome
The students shall learn about the discipline's history, its terminology, philosophy and methodology. Further, they shall learn about archaeological source material and the main cultural processes.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures and seminars.
Required previous knowledge
None.
Course materials
The required reading list will be available at the beginning of the semester. Students are not allowed to consult any text-books during the 6 hour exam.
