About the course

Course content

This course provides students increased insight into what archaeology is, how the discipline came to be, and what role it has played in different societies, both in the present and in the past. Through this, a view of the mechanisms governing the discipline, both internally and externally, is achieved.

Learning outcome

Students should gain additional insight into the discipline's research methodology and its role in the archaeological research process. The student should develop a good basis for further archaeological research, cultural heritage management, and museum studies.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures and seminars. The exam consist of a written assignment of maximum 6000 words
