About

About the course

Course content

The course covers the development of a project description, and on the basis of this, the writing of a Master's thesis. The topic for the thesis is chosen in collaboration with the department, usually within one of the department’s project programmes. The thesis should be the equivalent of two semesters' workload. It should be 60-80 pages long, A4 format, with 2.5cm margins, 1.5 line spacing and 12 point Times New Roman font (approximately 21,000-28,000 words). The table of contents, illustrations, acknowledgements, literature list and a possible appendix are counted in addition to this. If the length of the thesis significantly exceeds the norm, it will have to be approved by the advisor.

Students should learn to perform an archaeological analysis and develop and write an academic paper.
