About the course

Course content

This course is tailored to prepare students for their field research work in developing countries. The contents of the course will vary according to the needs of the participants. Normally, the course will include training in field study methods, interview methods, cultural understanding and communication. In addition, technical subject such as building design and detailing, materials and climates, building for earthquake etc. Further, the course focuses on project planning and on methods to secure validity and relevance of project proposals.

Learning methods and activities

An individual study report (e.g. literature survey, project work or similar) is mandatory.
