Performance, Conflict and Cooperation in Building Projects
About
About the course
Course content
The tensions between efficiency and effectiveness are discussed with a holistic approach to construction projects. The different actors give different priorities to efficiency and cost control versus effectiveness and adaptability to shifting external goals and demands. The conflicts that arise are most often contra productive, but may also contribute to the overall effectiveness. The understanding of how decisions are made, and of the origins and cosequences of power and conflicts in project organisations, thus becomes crucial in order to enhance the performance of the project.

The student should get a practical understanding, based on general theory, of the preconditions for cost control, and measures for effectiveness when efficiency has priority.
