About the course

Course content

The course gives an introduction about fundamental physiological processes related to metabolism, circulation, respiration and muscle work. Teaching in relevant anatomy is included. In addition to lectures, practical activities and demonstrations (e.g., measurement and analysis of physiological responses during physical exercise) will be used to illustrate the theoretical perspectives.

Learning outcome

The aim of this course is for students to acquire fundamental knowledge about the physiological processes related to metabolism, circulation, respiration, and muscle work. Students will also learn about regulation of these processes during physical activity.

Learning methods and activities

42 hours lectures/exercises/group work. The course is reserved for students admitted to the major in Human Movement and Sports Science. Exchange students interested in the course must consult the Department for possible admission

Compulsory assignments

  • 70% participation in exercises.
