About the course
Course content
The course will provide a practical introduction to the use of software tools to register, manage, and visualize data. Statistical concepts such as sampling, probability, and distribution will be lectured, in addition to basic statistical analyses such as t-tests, correlation, and non-parametric tests. Central elements in project planning and the importance of study design and measuring methods will be reviewed.
Learning outcome
The students should acquire knowledge about the main components in a research process, emphasising basic statistical terms and tests, and also different quantitative research designs.
Learning methods and activities
42 hours lectures/exercises. The course is reserved for students admitted to the major in Human Movement and Sports Science. Exchange students interested in the course must consult the Department for possible admission
