About the course

Course content

The course includes an introduction about fundamental theories within sport psychology. The course includes the following themes: Training, personality variables, individual differences and motivation for sports, emotional reactions to stress, and relaxation techniques. Furthermore, group processes and the health promoting effects of participation in sports will be taught. The goal is to show the relevance of these factors for training in general and performance-oriented sports in particular. Exercises and group work may involve practical activities, field observation, discussion meetings, and assignments related to central themes within sport psychology.

Learning outcome

Students will acquire fundamental knowledge about sport psychology.

Learning methods and activities

48 hours lectures/exercises/group work. The course is reserved for students admitted to the major in Human Movement and Sports Science.
Exchange students interested in the course must consult the Department for possible admission

Compulsory assignments

  • 70% participation in exercises.
