About

About the course

Course content

The main issues in biomechanics are understanding of forces (dynamics), movement (kinematics), energy, and their derived variables, with special attention to whole-body movements, and skeleton-, joint-, and muscle function. Theoretical exercises in movement analysis and technique are part of the course. Students are expected to master mathematical skills that are in accordance with the requirements for Higher Education Entrance Qualification in Norway.

Learning outcome

The aim of the subject is for students to acquire fundamental knowledge about the biomechanics of human movement. Furthermore, the most fundamental principles and theory of general mechanics shall be understood, as well as relevant scientific methods.

Learning methods and activities

48 hours lectures/exercises/group work. The course is reserved for students admitted to the major in Human Movement and Sports Science.Exchange students interested in the course must consult the Department for possible admission
