About the course
Course content
The subject will cover various fundamental principles about adaptation to regular exercise at different intensity levels. This applies in particular to the physical changes induced by strength training, endurance training, and technique training. However, also mental adaptations will be covered. Training effects will be discussed from a sports perspective.
Learning outcome
The aim of the subject is for students to acquire fundamental knowledge about the effects of physical activity on athletic performance. Students shall be able to apply theory in the fields of physiology, anatomy, and motor behaviour with regard to training.
Learning methods and activities
42 hours lectures/exercises/group work. The course is reserved for students admitted to the major in Human Movement and Sports Science. Exchange students interested in the course must consult the Department for possible admission

Samfunnsvitenskap (BSV)
Recommended previous knowledge
First year of subject area Movement and Sports Science.
Required previous knowledge
Four of the following courses: BEV1001, BEV1002, BEV1004, BEV1005, BEV1006, BEV1007.
